Brief description

A high quality small game for the Android platform. It lets you play as either side in the eternal struggle between the nations of Chaos and Order. As the two nations fight for their survival in a medieval fantasy setting, players will use strategy to command their armies to victory or defeat - leading their nation to glory and prosperity, or to bloodshed and ruin.

Game type

Equilibrium is a 3D real-time strategy game, reminiscent of Tower Defence. Players build various structures and towers to increase the production level of their village and to defend themselves from attacks. Armies will regularly be sent towards the opponent's village to either weaken or destroy it. There will be no control over the armies in battle other than their composition and the direction of an attack.

How the War Began

In an age long past, two nations lived side by side in disharmony. There was the nation of Order - pure and noble in its intentions, yet often immoral in its actions. And then there was the nation of Chaos – wild and unruly, but its subjects were glad to live (and die) by the spear.

Whilst many a story of courage had been sung in the lands of Order, and tales of warrior spirit were frequently recounted by battle-wounded Chaos generals, this story is neither one of strength nor spirit. It is a telling of a war between Order and Chaos. One of countless wars waged throughout their histories, this is the one that mattered most. Its outcome decided not only the fate of the two nations, but that of the entire world. This was the War of Equilibrium.

For the nation of Chaos, it was a day like any other. Bands of warriors raided and pillaged the occasional human countryside village, collecting spoils such as food, weapons, and prisoners to redistribute amongst their tribes. Slaves erected glorious monuments, honouring their masters for all to see. Battle-worn berserkers numbed their pains with the bitter taste of Mirr Ale, a vile concoction so strong that only the most inhuman of creatures could drink it and survive.

When the party of human soldiers (or Metalskins, as Chaos called them) entered the border town of Alkala, Chaos scouts did not bat an eyelid. Human ‘hunters’ were expected in the borderlands, and Chaos revelled in the day-to-day skirmishes that took place. On some days, the humans would win, wiping out an entire Chaos village in a matter of hours and reclaiming its slaves as loyal subjects of the Noble Kingdom. Other days, Chaos would reign supreme, annihilating their enemies and proudly hoisting their heads on pikes surrounding the village for all to see. In the everlasting war between Order and Chaos, both sides were aggressors, and both sides were defenders.

Unfortunately for Order, the heir to the Noble Kingdom, Prince Alric IV, was part of the hunting party that rode into Alkala, expecting to bring back an easy victory for their Queen. Whether it was due to faulty intelligence or just the blind arrogance of a young prince with something to prove, no one will ever know. The party was grossly outnumbered, underprepared, and overwhelmed. The forces of Chaos bravely defended Alkala, sparing only the life of the prince himself. His survival, however, was no sign of respect. The prince was the first to surrender, and thus in the eyes of the Chaos warriors, not worthy of the glory awarded by death on the battlefield. Prince Alric IV was placed in chains and sold to the highest bidder.

Within days, the prince had been traded and transported so many times that his identity was all but lost in a sea of slaves. Queen Ellyn, ruler of the lands of Order, sent daily messengers to Chaos villages demanding his swift return, but to no avail. No messengers ever returned. Ellyn had lost her patience, and was prepared to punish Chaos not only for her son’s disappearance, but also for their sinful, wicked ways. No longer could she ignore the neighbouring nation which for many years had merely been an annoyance - a stone in her shoe. It was time to deliver justice, and fast. The lands had to be united under a common ruler - one who was virtuous and fair, rather than savage and cruel. Each of the Chaos chieftains had to individually submit to the Queen's rule, or face her wrath.

The War of Equilibrium had begun.
